Russell County coroner releases name of bicyclist who died in crash with truck

The name of the bicycle rider who was killed in a collision with a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 pickup truck Monday in Phenix City has been released.

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. told the Ledger-Enquirer in a text message Tuesday night the victim was Marcus Dwayne Fuller, 68, of Phenix City.

“Manner of death appears to be an accident,” Sumbry said, but he also noted the Phenix City Police Department is investigating incident.

The crash happened at the intersection of Sandfort Road and Dawson Road around 6 a.m. Monday, Sumbry said then. The victim was pronounced dead at 8:22 a.m. from blunt-force trauma injuries, he said.
