Why part of a Columbus road will close for an estimated 60 days. See detour map
A portion of a Columbus road will be closed for around two months.
As part of the 19th Street Flood Abatement Project, the Columbus Consolidated Government announced the estimated 500-foot stretch of 35th Street from Ninth Avenue to the Highland Terrace apartment complex entrance will be closed, starting this week, for approximately 60 days.
“Drivers are encouraged to observe detour signage and proceed with caution,” the news release says.
The project runs on the west side of Veterans Parkway from Apex Road to the flood basin near 29th Street. As of last month, it was about 60% complete, according to the CCG administration’s presentation to the Columbus Council.
