The Harris County School District issued a safety alert Monday while an incident involving a person HCSD described as “an unruly visitor” prompted the Harris County Sheriff’s Office to respond.

HCSD posted this announcement on its Facebook page at 9:15 a.m.

“This morning, before the start of school, an incident involving an unruly visitor occurred at Mulberry Creek Elementary and Creekside Intermediate. All appropriate safety protocols were immediately followed, and the Harris County Sheriff’s Department quickly resolved the situation. All students and staff are safe, and both schools are operating on a normal schedule.”

Mulberry Creek and Creekside are adjacent schools on Highway 315.

More information about the incident wasn’t available. The Ledger-Enquirer didn’t reach HCSD Superintendent Justin Finney, HCSD communications director Taurence Phillips or Sheriff Mike Jolley for comment before publication.
