After 9,300 miles, 16 states, 21 days, how much money Miracle Riders raised for CSU
Though the 2026 Miracle Ride has concluded, there’s still time to make a donation to benefit the education of future health care professionals in Columbus and beyond.
Scott Ressmeyer and the Miracle Riders returned to Columbus on May 22, finishing their Pony Express-themed motorcycle ride of 9,300 miles across 16 state in 21 days to raise awareness of and money for Columbus State University’s College of Education & Health Professions.
During a celebration in downtown Columbus, Ressmeyer and the Miracle Riders presented CSU President Stuart Rayfield with a check for $172,907. It represented this year’s business and corporate sponsorships and donations, according to a news release from the Miracle Riders.
“We live in an incredible community, and we thank all of you,” Ressmeyer said in the news release. “We were able to deliver letters across the country. We heard amazing stories, and we shared a lot of tears. And we get to come home to this welcome, and this is enough to give you more tears.”
The Miracle Riders will continue to accept donations for the 2026 ride through June 30. Money raised this year will establish an endowment to maintain the three clinical simulation funded through previous Miracle Rides, according to the news release. Donations received after that will be applied to the 2027 ride.
“This group of guys is the most amazing group of men that I’ve ever had a chance to spend time with,” Rayfield said in the news release. “We’re all so grateful and so thankful for all the work you do,” she added, speaking to the riders. “The sacrifices you make, the sacrifices your families and loved ones make while you are gone for three weeks, is just so inspiring for each of us.”
The Miracle Riders announced in March they had reached their $1 million fundraising goal they set in 2021 for the CSU College of Education & Health Professions.
