1 driver dies in 3-car crash in Phenix City, Russell County coroner says

A three-car crash Monday in Phenix City claimed the life of one of the drivers.

At 9:31 a.m., Anthony D. Dinelli was pronounced dead on the scene at 128 State Highway 165, Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. announced in a text message to reporters.

Dinelli died from blunt-force trauma injuries, Sumbry said.

“Speed may have been a contributing factor,” Sumbry said. “Blood toxicology was done. Another driver with possible minor injuries.”

The Phenix City Police Department is investigating the crash along with the coroner’s office, Sumbry said. The Ledger-Enquirer didn’t reach any PCPD official for more information about this case before publication.
