Ceremony set to honor Columbus Dollar General homicide victim. How to attend

Family and friends of Alexis Hill, the manager of the Dollar General on Victory Drive in Columbus who was fatally shot by a customer Tuesday, will conduct a candle lighting and balloon release ceremony in her honor Saturday.

The event is scheduled to start at 12:30 p.m. on the Chattahoochee Riverwalk, her brother, Jonathan Hill, announced in a Facebook post.

“The colors are blue, white, and pink, but they are not mandatory,” he wrote in the post. “We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and support during this difficult time.”

The invitation lists Banks Food Hall as the meeting point.
