Man dies after rollover crash in Phenix City, Russell County coroner says

A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in Phenix City, according to Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr.

Sumbry said the victim is an unidentified male driver of a silver or gray Jeep Cherokee who died after a rollover off the road into a wooded area.

The victim is possibly in his 40s or 50s and was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:58 a.m. Wednesday, according to Sumbry.

Sumbry said the victim suffered massive blunt-force head injuries. The wreck occurred at Brickyard Road and Haley Road in Phenix City, according to Sumbry.

The Phenix City Police Department and Russell County Coroner’s Office are investigating, according to Sumbry.
