Russell County Coroner IDs victim of rollover crash in Phenix City

Russell County Coroner Arthur Sumbry Jr. has identified the victim of a single-vehicle crash in Phenix City Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred at Brickyard Road and Haley Road in Phenix City. The victim died after the silver or gray Ford Escape he was driving experienced a rollover off the road into a wooded area, Sumbry said.

Sumbry identified the victim as 52-year-old Deon Tarver, of Phenix City. He suffered massive blunt-force head injuries, Sumbry said.

The Phenix City Police Department and Russell County Coroner’s Office are investigating, according to Sumbry.
