Author of "The Terrorist's Son: A Story of Choice," addresses freshman class at CSU
Zak Ebrahim, author of "The Terrorist's Son: A Story of Choice," addressed the freshman class at University Hall on the Columbus State University main campus on Tuesday.
When Ebrahim was a child, his father, El Sayyid Nosair, was convicted as a conspirator in the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center north tower, and was involved in other terrorist activities.
The family later changed their names and frequently moved in an effort to escape their father's shadow and live a normal life.
Although he grew up in the home of a religious zealot and was being groomed to follow in his father's footsteps, Ebrahim says that he has chosen a path of peace.
His book was the 2015 CSU Freshman Common Read.
