Columbus Fire and EMS officials said they have yet to identify the cause of the Garden Drive house fire they were called to early this morning around 3:35 a.m.
The incident, which happened in the 2600 block, caused a significant amount of damage to the 11,000-square-foot structure but injured no one. The resident wasn't in the one-story wood-framed home when it caught fire.
"The fire origin was in a crawl space area," the department said on its Facebook page. "The cause of the fire is undetermined.
Officials said there was no sign of a working smoking detector being in the home.
"Please, check your smoke detectors!!" officials posted.
