Columbus Fire & EMS said they were called to house around 10:02 p.m. Tuesday that caused moderate damage to a house in the 1300 block of Sturkie Drive.
The blaze started in the living room area, resulting in an estimated $10,000 in damage to the structure and $4,500 to its content. It was extinguished without any reported injures, officials said on the department's Facebook page.
"While the origin and cause remain undetermined, several candles were located in the room of origin," the agency posted.
No working smoke detectors were located in the house, which the fire department recognizes as a reoccurring safety harzard.
