Annick Muto, 35, of Columbus was identified as the passenger who died following an early Tuesday wreck in Russell County, according to a press release from the Alabama Alabama Law Enforcement Agency.

Authorities said Muto was killed when the 2004 Honda Civic she was riding in collided with a 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche on Alabama 169 at the 11 mile marker. The drivers of both vehicles were injured and transported to a local hospital for treatment following the incident, which happened before 7 a.m.

Officials were diverting traffic away from Highway 169 up until about 12:16 p.m. that day, when the scene was cleared.
