Changes to the Ledger-Enquirer coming Wednesday

Dear Readers,

We're glad to announce some enhancements to the Ledger-Enquirer, which you'll begin to see Wednesday.

We've learned from reader research that you're busier than ever and that you appreciate when the newspaper offers ways for you to scan a range of stories quickly. But you've also told us you want a newspaper with stories that you can spend time with and enjoy, often with a cup of coffee.

We're making some changes so you can do both. We're redesigning the print paper to be more visually appealing, with an updated font, improved section headers, more white space and bigger photos. You'll see summaries at the top of stories, which will give you a quick synopsis if you don't have time for a deeper read. On the front page, we'll dedicate more room to the biggest story of the day while giving you a better preview of what's inside.

On Wednesday, we'll be introducing our new Insight section, which will run Wednesday through Friday every week and will shed light on important topics and issues in the community, as well as answer questions about what's in the news.

We're also enhancing written and visual storytelling across our digital platforms, from desktops to smartphones to laptops and tablets, and we will continue to upgrade the digital experience.

Why are we doing this? Our strategy is to meet your needs for news with our award-winning journalism, taking advantage of the strengths of each platform with more analysis and perspective in print, and more videos, photos and easy-to-scan breaking news in our digital editions.

Here is what isn't changing: our deep commitment to keeping you informed and engaged, celebrating our community, and shining a light and making a difference.
