The Russell County Highway Department will close from April 20 to May 20 a portion of Cottonton Road. Drivers are encouraged to use the established detour route as workers repair a shoulder slide from December and January’s heavy rains.

The Russell County Highway Department said it will close from April 20 to May 20 a portion of Cottonton Road (County Road No. 4) from Greenburt Road (Co. Rd. No. 39) to Highway 165.

Drivers are encouraged to use the established detour route as workers repair a shoulder slide from December and January’s heavy rains.

Construction and detour signs will be in place for public convenience, according to a release from the department.
