Barbour County Sheriff Leroy Upshaw has created a social media uproar in and around Eufaula, Ala., with a post about an incident that happened to two of his deputies in a fast-food restaurant.

“Two of my Deputies went into Wendy's in Eufaula today to eat lunch. A cashier then stated that she ‘hated these f-----g cops in here’. Just thought the citizens that appreciate law enforcement, and local law enforcement, should know.

The deputies were at a Wendy’s on 431 South.

“One of the deputies heard her and asked her to repeat it, all she said was ‘Can I take your order?’” Upshaw said when reached Wednesday.

The two uniformed deputies, one a veteran and the other in training, walked out of the restaurant without ordering.

The sheriff’s Facebook post had more than 165 shares by Wednesday afternoon.

Upshaw said he talked to Wendy’s management in Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday.

“They told me they were investigating it,” he said.
