Newcomer Walker Garrett appears set to take District 8 council seat

Political newcomer Walker Garrett appears set to take the Columbus Council District 8 seat that was made vacant after C.E. “Red” McDaniel died in 2015.

With all seven precincts reporting and in-person early votes counted, Garrett leads Jonathan Davis 1,097-761.
