ALEA: No ammonia leak found in overturned tractor-trailer on U.S. 80
Update: The scene was cleared by 11:15 p.m. Thursday, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The roadway is now open.
Original Story: Traffic was moving slowly briefly in one lane on U.S. 80 after a tractor-trailer truck overturned at the 197 mile marker Thursday in Russell County, troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a release.
The driver of the vehicle was transported with minor injuries to Midtown Medical Center in Columbus, said Sgt. Steve Jarrett with ALEA.
An investigation has determined there is no leak from the truck hauling anhydrous ammonia.
More information will be provided as soon as it becomes available.
The crash remains under investigation by state troopers.
