United Way makes board changes
United Way of the Chattahoochee Valley closed its 2015-2016 fiscal year last month, ushering in new leadership for the next campaign.
Board members and leaders who served for three years ended their terms, while new members came on board, according to a statement released by United Way President and CEO Scott Ferguson.
“We rely upon a strong group of volunteer board members to guide our operations and ensure the community that their gift to the United Way is wisely invested in local programs that achieve results,” Ferguson said. “When you combine the volunteer leadership with the best employee team ever, there is no stopping the power of United Way to help those in need in the Chattahoochee Valley.”
Sallie Martin, a former United Way campaign chair, is the new board chair for fiscal year 2016-2017, according to the release. She will replace Russell County Sheriff Heath Taylor, who held the position over the past year.
Fifty-seven local programs are being funded through the $7.1 million raised in 2015, according to previous information released by the organization. A total of $5,128,210 will be dispersed among 27 agencies.
