Henry Lynch III wins Chattahoochee County sheriff’s race

In the Democratic runoff race for sheriff of Chattahoochee County, Henry “Hank” Lynch III defeated Michael Sizemore with a 66 to 34 percent margin, or 527 to 276 votes. Lynch will replace Sheriff Glynn Cooper, who has held the office since 1973.

In Marion County, Eric Ivey defeated Guy Grimsley by a 57 to 42 percent margin, or 334 to 242 votes, in the Republican runoff for sheriff. Ivey will oppose the incumbent Derrell Neal in November.

In Stewart County D. Brown defeated K. Hodges by a 71 to 29 percent margin, or 70 to 29 votes, for a Board of Education seat in District 4.

In the runoff for the Taylor County Commission, incumbent Cicero Latimore defeated Ronald Jackson by a 59 to 41 percent, or 127 to 88 vote margin.
