Need school supplies? CTC hosts event tonight to help

Columbus Technical College is hosting a “Back 2 School BASH” tonight from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where free school supplies will be handed out for students in Kindergarten through 12th grade.

Taking place on the Manchester Expressway at the courtyard between the library and Carl Patrick Hall, the event will have food, games, information booths on CTC’s programs and more, according to a news release from CTC.

The event is open for anyone who would like to attend, and CTC will have multiple professionals on hand to help students with registration for the fall, advisement for classes and financial aid processes.

“The whole family can come out and have fun,” assistant director of admissions and recruitment Ken Lockhart said. “While the younger kids are getting their free school supplies and playing games, we’ll have our experienced staff ready to register the older kids –or moms and dads- for fall classes. It’s a one-stop shop for everyone.”

Attendees can also participate in real life simulators from welding, automotive and health care. Cosmetology students will be on-hand to give mini-manicures, and culinary arts students will have food samples.

Anyone needing more information can contact Lockhart at (706) 649-1893 or email klockhart@columbustech.edu.
