Five crashes stall southbound traffic on wet Interstate 185
Southbound traffic on Interstate 185 was stalled Saturday after police were called to five crashes south of the Airport Thruway.
The crashes which occurred during a thunder storm sent four people to hospital for treatment about 4 p.m., said Police Capt. Tony Danford.
Most of the injuries occurred in a four-car crash on the wet road. “It was all because of the rain,” Danford said. “People lost control of their cars.”
Traffic was backed up bumper-to-bumper while the accidents were cleared. Southbound traffic was diverted from the road for about an hour before it was reopened .
