Columbus Council unanimously approved Holli Browder, currently the assistant Parks and Recreation director, to be the new director, replacing James Worsley, who recently left to take a position in Virginia.
“She’s highly qualified and is the best candidate for the job at this time,” City Manager Isaiah Hugley said in presenting Browder to council. “She’s worked in Parks and Recreation for 18 years and has literally worked her way from the bottom to the top.”
Browder, surrounded by family and a couple of dozen Parks and Rec co-workers, who applauded loudly after council’s vote.
“Thank you for opportunity,” Browder said. “I am both humbled and excited by this.”
Browder’s salary in her new position will be $88,464.
