LaGrange, Ga., police launched an investigation Tuesday night after a woman said one or more people tried to burn her Juniper Street home.
No one has been arrested in connection with the 7:50 p.m. incident, which left the rear deck damaged but didn’t harm anyone, officials said in a news release.
Officers were called to a residence in the 1200 block of Juniper Street around 7:53 p.m. after the 56-year-old homeowner reported that someone tried to set fire to her home with a flaming cardboard sign.
She told officials that one or more people left the sign on a small wooden deck at the back of her home. Police confirmed that they found a sign that had been ignited on the deck, but the flame extinguished on its own without damaging the remainder of the home.
Anyone with information about this incident is urged to call the LaGrange Police Department at 706-883-2603 or Troup County Crime Stoppers at 706 812-1000.
