Authorities are trying to identify the knife-wielding man who robbed the Shell gas station at 320 Commerce Ave. early Wednesday, according to a news release from the LaGrange Police Department.
No injuries were reported.
Officials said they responded to the scene at 2:41 a.m. to investigate an armed robbery. Upon arrival, they met with the store clerk, who said a black man wearing a blue shirt and khaki shorts entered the business brandishing a knife and demanding money.
He forced the clerk to open several cash drawers before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash, authorities said.
Police have yet to identify the suspect. Witnesses described him as a 6-foot black man who appeared to be between 35 and 45 years old and weighed 200 pounds.
