Former insurance agent charged with submitting fraudulent applications to Aflac
A former Fulton County insurance agent has been arrested and faces 12 counts of insurance fraud.
Insurance commissioner Ralph Hudgens said in a press release that Kenneth Underwood, 60, of Atlanta is accused of submitting fraudulent life insurance applications to Aflac and receiving advance commissions in excess of $8,500.
Underwood was arrested on Oct. 13, taken to the Muscogee County Jail and later released.
Insurance fraud is a felony with a penalty of two to 10 years in prison and/or a fine of up to $10,000.
