Auburn police charge Opelika man with theft, possession of drug paraphernalia

Police in Auburn, Ala., have arrested Jason Eric Woodall, 41, of Opelika, Ala. and charged him with burglary 2nd degree, theft of property 4th degree, possession of drug paraphernalia and giving false information to law enforcement.

According to an official report, the arrest was made Saturday.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. on Thursday, officers responded to an alarm at a closed convenience store in the 7300 block of U.S. Highway 280.

They discovered someone had forced entry and stolen cigarettes, cigars and bottles of liquor.

The investigation, which included video surveillance footage, led the police to Woodall.

Woodall was transported to the Lee County Jail where he is being held on a $5,500 bond.
