Planet Fitness patrons lift car off woman run over in parking lot
A 54-year-old woman was partially pinned beneath a car Thursday afternoon after she was run over while walking to her car in the St. Francis Marketplace shopping center, Columbus police said.
Patrons from Planet Fitness helped lift the front of the 2014 Ford Fusion off of the woman after the 6:40 p.m. crash at the 4519 Woodruff Road center. She was treated for non life-threatening bruises and cuts, said Police Sgt. Randy Kiel.
Police said the woman was walking to her car when an elderly driver ran over her and partially pinned her beneath the car. Kiel said some patrons ran from the fitness center to lift the car and free the woman. It is unclear what part of her body was under the car after the crash.
The crash remains under investigation, Kiel said.
