Police: Female gunshot victim found in Opelika

After receiving a 911 call early Saturday afternoon, Opelika Police found a 35-year-old female apparent gunshot victim in the 1900 block of Toomer Street.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her body will be take to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Montgomery for a postmortem examination. The victim’s name will not be released until family members are notified. The manner of death has not been determined at this time.
