Two men killed in collision on Sixth Avenue identified

Two men are dead after the car they were riding in collided with another vehicle on Sixth Avenue late Friday, authorities said.

The victims were identified as Quinton Dale Moss, 30, of Phenix City and Anthony Tallis Fort, 25, of Pittsview , said Chief Deputy Muscogee County Coroner Freeman Worley. Moss was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash at 11:23 p.m. while Fort was pronounced dead at 11:36 p.m. in the emergency room at Midtown Medical Center.

Moss was driving a Ford Fusion on Sixth Avenue when the vehicle was struck at Ninth Street. Moss and his passenger , Fort , had to be freed from the wreckage.

Moss was wearing a seat belt, Worley said.

Both victims will be transported to the crime lab in Decatur for an autopsy to determine a cause of death.
