Man accused of raping young girl in Columbus
A Columbus man accused of raping a young girl in Columbus was returned to the city on Tuesday after his June 21 arrest in Clebourne County, Ala., police said .
Jeffrey Jenkins, 36, was also charged with child molestation and aggravated child molestation in connection with a May 31 incident in Columbus. He is held in the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Friday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police said Jenkins was arrested on outstanding warrants in Clebourne County and extradited back to Columbus. The charges stem from an incident that occurred with a minor child about 9:20 p.m. on May 31.
