Atlanta man held on 128 theft, ID and card fraud charges
An Atlanta man was jailed Friday in Columbus on 128 theft, ID and card fraud charges, jail records schoe.
Keith Andre Jones, 41, was taken into custody at 3:54 p.m. at University Avenue and Macon Road and transported to the Muscogee County Jail in connection with a series of fraud and theft charges. The charges include 62 counts of ID fraud, seven counts of criminal attempt theft by deception, 16 counts of theft by deception and 43 counts of financial transaction card fraud. He also faces one count of possessing a drug related object for a hearing scheduled for next week in Recorder’s Court.
An investigation by the theft unit at the Columbus Police Department led to Jones’ arrest. Police Detective Christy Truitt led efforts to track the suspect before his arrest in Columbus.
