Police: Columbus woman struck man with truck after dispute over woman

A dispute over a woman ended with a man being struck with a pickup truck Wednesday morning at a Weems Road residence, Columbus police said.

Sharrmaine Curtis, 40, faces one count each of aggravated assault and failure to maintain lane. She was booked into the Muscogee County Jail.

Authorities were called to the 6600 block of Moon Circle around 8:49 a.m. Sunday to investigate a domestic dispute. When the arrived to the area, Curtis was trying to back out of the driveway.

A man told police that he was arguing with Curtis about another woman while driving down Weems Road. He said he pulled into the driveway and exited the vehicle, thinking the dispute was over.

He was walking in the grass when Curtis allegedly sped toward him in the vehicle. The rearview mirror on the truck struck his back, leaving abrasions on the left side of his back.

He was treated on the scene.

Curtis told police that she did drive toward the man in the truck. She said he turned into the mirror after she threw shoes at him from inside the car.

The victim said Curtis has tried to hit him with a vehicle multiple times in the past.
