A Columbus teen was charged with reckless conduct Wednesday after her infant sister in her care sustains several injuries, police said.

Charessa King, 17, was taken into custody at noon Wednesday by the Special Victims Unit at the Public Safety Center. A Recorder’s Court hearing is set for 9 a.m. Friday.

In a report, police said the teen’s 1-year-old sister was left in her care. An East Wynnton resident, King is accused of failing to supervise the child, resulting in several injuries to her body.

Police said the child was placed at an unjustifiable risk. There is a witness to the incident, according to the report.
