Task Force seizes $5,240 worth meth during 40th Street raid
One man was charged with trafficking in methamphetamine and two others face drug possession charges after a Metro Narcotics Task Force raid on 40th Street Friday morning.
Agents arrested Louie Mattocks, 46, Paul Laney, 51, and Jacqueline Laney, 50. Mattocks faces one count each of trafficking meth, possession of drug related objects, possession of marijuana, possession of Ecstasy, possession of Xanax bars and clonazepam, and drug related objects. Paul and Jacqueline Laney both are charged with one count of possessing drug related objects and possession of meth. All are held in the Muscoge County Jail for an 8 a.m. Saturday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Agents with the Task Force served a search warrant at the Columbus home at 10 a.m. During a search of Mattocks’ room, agents found almost 2 ounces of meth with a street value of $5,240, a small amount of marijuana valued at $6 and three Xanax bars with a value of $30. They also found five clonazepam pills valued at $50 and four Ecstasy pills worth $60 along with baggies, scales and a glass smoking device.
The couple claimed a small amount of meth and a glass smoking device but none of the other drugs. The total drugs were valued at $5,386.
