Columbus police are warning the public about a scam involving credit card fraud and job offers.
According to an official report, the police department’s Financial Crimes Unit has received several complaints in reference to items purchased using stolen credit cards and then being shipped to local addresses in Columbus.
The people receiving these items are being solicited to work from home as shipping/receiving technicians.
The job offers are part of a scam, police said.
The job seems legitimate as proper paperwork is filled out and the person is given access to what appears to be a legitimate company website.
