During the investigation, police said six to 10 men approached the apartment on Rigdon Road at 2 a.m. Multiple gunshots were fired before the suspects fled from the area.

Police and Columbus Department of Fire & Emergency Medical Services were called to Harbison Drive at 5:37 a.m. about a vehicle fire. After the fire was put out, authorities found a charred body in the trunk of a stolen 2006 Pontiac G6.

The investigation was turned over to arson and homicide investigators. The Muscogee County Coroner’s Office identified Fleming with DNA matched to his parents.

Reginald Jackson is the fifth person charged in connection with the death of Fleming. Alexander Jackson, 56, was charged Aug. 3 with tampering with evidence in the death of Fleming who was shot twice, once in the head and hip at 2613 Cusseta Road. Police said Alexander Jackson was instructed to get rid of blood left at the scene.

Three other men are charged with hijacking the Pontiac from a woman on July 9 at 2936 N. Lumpkin Road. Police identified the suspects as Darious Jamal Robinson, 18, Marquis Lamar Johnson, 20, and Fredret Shamar Culliver, 17.

Johnson is accused of pointing a gun at the woman at Big Cat Fuels gas station and demanding the car during the carjacking. One suspect grabbed the keys and wallet from the ground after the woman threw down the items and a cellphone. The three men entered the Pontiac but left the cellphone before fleeing.

Fleming’s body was found in the stolen car early the next day. The 34-year-old man was charred beyond recognition with no facial features and no fingers, the coroner said.

Jackson is described as black, about 6 feet tall and weighing 175 pounds. He has a low haircut with several tattoos. One on his right hand, “MBTC”, right hand, “Jamal” . Others on his left arm are “Red” and “Cross with Only God Knows.” One on his chest reads “boss.”

Police said Jackson is considered armed and extremely dangerous. Anyone with information on the Scott murder should direct calls to Cpl. Donna Baker 706-225-4047 or dbaker@columbusga.org.
