Police: Homeowner shoots teen suspect under carport

Police in Eufaula, Ala. are investigating a case in which a homeowner admitted to shooting a teen Wednesday afternoon.

According to a Facebook report from Eufaula Police Chief Steve Watkins, a homeowner called 911 at 12:03 p.m. to report someone unlawfully inside a vehicle under his carport on Macon Avenue.

The homeower gave a description of the subject and described his actions to the communications officer.

Watkins says when they arrived on the scene officers were told by the homeowner that he shot the person who then fled the scene.

A 17-year-old boy, showed up at the Barbour County Medical Center seekling treatment for a gunshot wound to the lower torso.

The homeowner has been taken into custody for questioning.

No charges have been filed.

No names are being given.

The case is still under investigation.
