A man under the influence was jailed late Friday after witnesses said he fired a shotgun during a domestic dispute on Hunter's Ridge Circle, Columbus police said.
Pearlman Barner Jr., 63, was taken into custody at 10 p.m. at 6057 Hunter’s Ridge Circle. He was charged with one count of reckless conduct, discharging a firearm while intoxicated, possession of a firearm by a felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime in the Muscogee County Jail. Bond was set at $5,250 for a 9 a.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police were called to the area to check on a domestic dispute. Witnesses told police that a suspect fired two rounds from a shotgun during the incident.
Police said Barnes had an odor of alcohol about him and was highly intoxicated.
