Police: 3 arrested at burglary scene

Police in Auburn, Ala., say three suspects were arrested at the scene of a burglary.

According to an official report, charged with burglary first degree and theft of property second degree are Tyler Avery, 18, of Salem, Ala., Marquez Thomas, 21, of Opelika, Ala., and Kendavious Williams, 20, of Auburn, Ala.

Police say around 11 p.m. Saturday Auburn police responded to a burglary in progress call at a residence in the 500 block of Shelton Mill Road.

The reports says officers observed individuals carrying a television from the rear of an apartment.

The suspects fled and two were apprehended in a nearby wooded area with the assistance of a police K9 team.

The third suspect was apprehended as he attempted to flee in a vehicle.

Police say further investigation determine the suspects unlawfully entered an apartment and stole various electronic devices valued at more than $1,700. Officers located and recovered all of the stolen property as well as a handgun possessed by the suspects during the burglary.

The suspects were taken to the Lee County Jail.
