Man with half-closed left eye charged in BP Food Mart robbery
A man with a half-closed left eye has been charged in the Sept. 3 armed robbery at the BP Food Mart on Veterans Parkway, Columbus police said Wednesday.
Dennis Lee Brown, 27, was taken into custody on outstanding warrants at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Columbus. He was charged with one count each of robbery, aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a knife or firearm during the commission or attempt to commit certain crimes. He is held without bond in the Muscogee County Jail for a 2 p.m. Friday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Brown is accused of entering the 2317 Veterans Parkway business and taking more than $1,400 during an armed robbery. Police were called at 10:50 a.m. to the business to investigate a robbery.
During the investigation, police learned the suspect has a half-closed left eye. Police said the man with a Lumpkin Court address also is unemployed.
