Man accused in nearly $3,000 theft from Housing Authority vehicles
A Columbus man is accused of taking almost $3,000 worth of property from vehicles at the E.J. Knight Senior Center on Fort Benning Road, Columbus police said .
Gene Autry Bryer, 23, was charged with burglary after his Tuesday arrest. He is held in the Muscogee County Jail for a hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police said sometime between 6 p.m. Sept. 6 and 7:15 a.m. Sept. 7, someone entered 10 Columbus Housing Authority vehicles at 1121 Fort Benning Road and $2,970 worth of property was taken.
Police didn’t specify how Bryer was linked to the theft of property from the vehicles.
