A man was arrested on Gambling charges Thursday after the Metro Narcotics Task Force executed a search at the BP gas station on Buena Vista Road, Columbus police said.

Jagdish Patel, 33, faces two counts each of keeping a gaming place and commercial gambling after the 4 p.m. search at 3921 Buena Vista Road. He was held in the Muscogee County Jail for a hearing in Recorder’s Court.

The Task Force entered the business to execute a search warrant. Police said Patel was arrested without incident on outstanding warrants.

The arrest came less than a week after Manolito Eugene Lewis, 24, allegedly pointed a shotgun at an agent before he was shot during a search Sept. 15 on 41st Street. Lewis of Columbus was charged with aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is still investigating the officer-involved shooting. Lewis was treated at Midtown Medical Center and later released to the Muscogee County Jail.
