Police: Man fires shots during dispute with woman
A man was charged with reckless conduct after shots were fired during a dispute with a woman on Kings Mountain Court, Columbus police said.
Taris Holloman , 40, was taken into custody about 10:40 p.m. Friday in the 1200 block of Kings Mountain Court. He also was charged with obstruction of law enforcement, criminal trespass, simple battery, possession of a firearm by convicted felon and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime. Holloman is held in the Muscogee County Jail on bonds totaling more than $7,250 for a 2 p.m. Wednesday hearing in Recorder’s Court.
Police said the suspect and a woman were in a fight when she was punched and kicked. Police said a cell phone was shattered and the man is accused of firing several shots in the air with a gun during the dispute.
After police arrived on the scene, officers chased Holloman on foot after he fled through a back yard. He was taken into custody after a brief struggle.
