Columbus man faces aggravated child molestation, sodomy charges
A 45-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a child was sexually assaulted Aug. 24 near Blackmon Road, according to Columbus police.
Jimmie Jenkins of Columbus faces one count each of aggravated sodomy, aggravated child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Thursday hearing in Columbus Recorder’s Court.
A police report states that Jenkins’ charges stem from an incident that occurred near Blackmon Road between 2 and 7 p.m. Aug. 24. No additional details about the crime have been given.
