Death of inmate in Valdosta being investigated
The Georgia Department of Corrections is investigating the death of an inmate at Valdosta State Prison.
According to an official report, Milton Jones was found unresponsive in his cell at 5:58 p.m. Tuesday.
The prison’s medical staff administered CPR in an attempt to revive him. He was transported to a hospital and was pronounced dead at 6:51 p.m.
Jones was serving a 21-year sentence of aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a crime.
