Report of a prowler was actually woman stranded after purse snatching, police say
A woman left stranded on Melrose Drive after her purse was forcibly taken from her was mistaken for a prowler early Friday morning, police say.
Officers were dispatched to the area shortly before 6 a.m. after a report of a prowler wandering around the area. When they arrived, the officers learned that the suspected prowler was actually a victim of a robbery and had had her purse snatched, according to a report. She had been stranded in the area.
No arrests were made.
