Columbus couple charged after 4-year-old son found wandering streets alone

A Columbus man and woman were arrested early Saturday after their 4-year-old son was found wandering the streets alone near Bull Creek Apartments, authorities said.

Stevie Green Jr., 37, and Sharmane Pace, 26, face one count each of reckless conduct. They were booked into the Muscogee County Jail and released on bond.

Columbus police were called to Bull Creek Apartments at 17 Creek Way around 8 a.m. Saturday to investigate an incident involving a lost child.

Authorities said further investigation indicates that Green and Pace left their 4-year-old son alone at their home. While they were gone, the child left the apartment and walked the streets unsupervised.

In the police report, officials didn’t mention the boy being harmed or clarify how long he was left unsupervised.
