Columbus man charged after allegedly sexually assaulting woman
A Columbus man was accused of sexually assaulting a woman in late June at a residence near Forrest Road, authorities said.
Johnathan Rimmey, 32, was taken into custody on Tuesday on an outstanding sexual battery warrant. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Thursday hearing in Columbus Recorder’s Court.
Columbus police were called to an area near Forrest Road around 7:09 p.m. June 28 to investigate a sexual battery. Officials said it occurred between 3 and 4 p.m. that day, but they have yet to release any further details.
