Man allegedly found with $600 in cocaine, marijuana during Columbus traffic stop

A 31-year-old was allegedly found with more than $600 in cocaine and marijuana Wednesday morning during a traffic stop on Victory Drive, according to Columbus police.

Demetrius West faces one count each of possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, driving in the improper lane and driving with a suspended or revoked license. He was booked into the Muscogee County Jail for a 9 a.m. Friday hearing in Columbus Recorder’s Court.

Columbus police conducted a traffic stop around 11:45 a.m. Wednesday on a vehicle West was traveling in. During the stop, authorities found 1.9 grams of cocaine (street value of 190), 43.4 grams of marijuana (street value of $434), one digital scale, plastic bags, and a “Crown Royal” bags.

No further details were immediately released.
