Columbus police were called to the BP Food Mart at 2317 Veterans Parkway around 4:45 p.m. Thursday to investigate an armed robbery.

Sgt. Steve Harvey Hatcher said two men wearing dark hooded sweatshirts entered the gas station and robbed it of cash. One suspect was armed with a gun and fired two shots, striking one of the store clerks. Another clerk was beaten, authorities said.

The clerk who was shot was transported to Columbus Midtown Medical Center. That individual’s current condition is not available at this time.
